STATEMENT

My work is about  scenes that explore the human experiences, their desires and their curiosity of making discoveries. My aim is to portray individual or/and collective consciousness into a unique situation regardless biological and sociological belonging.

During the past six years, I have been traveling to the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia. As a Caribbean person influenced by Haitian cultures, but now exposed to multi-cultures, I am eager to explore beyond that insular framework. My imagery is primarily a result of references and imagination. I usually create a form of atmospheric visual texture that evoke a sense of community.

Haiti origin, New York City based visual artist.

RESEARCH

FROM THE PAGE TO THE WALL. The seventy pages research explores those galleries in the United States that display contemporary Illustration and Illustrators. The focus is on creating a critical guide that speaks to the art and trade of the illustration industry beyond the printed page. It examines the artists, the markets that they work for, and the promotion and trade by the galleries. ( research will be published soon)
